Friday Favorites

Hi Y'all!

How happy are you that it is Friday and next week is Christmas?  It was funny, while waiting for the subway to work this morning, I noticed everyone was carrying gift/Christmas/holiday bags to the office and many of my friends start their holiday break after today and have their holiday party tonight.  Unfortunately, I work in finance in NYC, which means technically I work through Christmas Eve but I am heading to Austin the 23rd for my mom's birthday.  So I actually don't work but I will be working the whole week of New Years.  It's ok - I am used to it thanks to years and years of basketball (usually had an 8/9 AM practice on New Years Day).

This week has flown by, like most of this year! I can't wait to spend the next two week making lists and lists and then narrowing my goals down for the New Year.

Travel/Throwback Thursday: Turkey

Hey Y'All!

Sorry that this is so late but it's been a busy day - luckily it means the day has flown by.  But all I can think about is how I have 4 hours worth of stuff to do in 2 hours tonight (if I want to get to bed at a reasonable time) and that is going to have to fight my desire to watch Arrow - R got me hooked!

For "Travel Thursday," I figured I would do a flashback to my time back in the fall of 2012 when I lived in the Middle East and I never shared my pictures of my weekend trip with one of my good friends J!  We had such a blast and such a remarkable time. It was early December just before the riots that occurred in some of the same places we visited.  But for us, we ate great food, I still drool when I think about the Baklava and Turkish Delights and kebab, and had such a fun time exploring, sightseeing and shopping!

This was the view from out hotel/hostel. The Blue Mosque (literally right across the square) and the Bosporus.

Wednesday Work Outfit Inspiration

Hi Y'all!

Sorry that this is late! I really want to start pushing myself and puttin gup pictures but honestly, I hated being in pictures since I was little.  I always preferred to take them (even though my lil sis was so much better at taking them).  I also don't think selfies are the way to go.  SO I think I am going to have to enlist my friends or my Aunt for help, but it is pretty difficult when you work all day-long hours - but excuses, excuses! But hey, it is Wednesday and it is almost Christmas (p.s. HAPPY HANUKKAH - one of my good friends is currently in Israel and I am just so jealous)!

Going back to the blog posts, I have started working on making my New Year's Resolutions, and I think one of them will be to have one outfit post a week (and it can't be a selfie).

Here is a simple but perfect look for the office (in my opinion at least):

Weekend Favorites

Hi Y'all!

So I am awful and have been  non-existent.  Seriously life got terribly busy and I didn't even get to really rest this weekend and then the work week started again and it was back to the grind!

Since I am only just now starting to catch up on blog posts, I thought I would share some of the things that caught my attention this weekend!

1) Thorncrown Chapel - I discovered it through my obsessive watching of 19 Kids and Counting (love me some) and I fell in love with this place.  How perfect is it? I mean where religion and nature meets. It blows me away!

2) These two items from anthropologie:

Travel Thursday - Dubai

Hi Y'all!

So, I don't actually have some place to share with you so I thought I would go back into my "archives" and finish sharing pictures from my various trips to Dubai (in the UAE) so this would have been from Fall 2012.

This is more for family than anything else but hope you enjoy.

What I Wore to the Office Wednesday!

Hi Y'all!

Another outfit post today! I am sorry about the lack of post yesterday.  I need to get back on my game but thought I would share my outfit from yesterday - sorry that these aren't the best quality of photos. Also, two things first - who else is completely obsessed with the podcast serial? oh my goodness one of my friends got me into it, and I am already completely caught up in three days! I also went to the Nutcracker (NYCB) last night, and it was just so beautiful and I got to catch up with some of my friends from church, so that was really special. I also made myself stay up (yes I like to go to bed at 10 pm) and watch the VS Fashion Show in London.  Just loved it.  R and I texted throughout the entire thing!

Ok so an outfit I wore this past week. I would say it's more on the "funky" end for me.  But I love my plaid pants, especially because they keep me warm and Monday was freezing.  Let's just hope there is no ice today.

Jacket: h&m (old); Top/Tank: J. Crew (old); Pants: h&m (old); Zara: booties; Necklace: Baublebar Watch: Michael Kors via Nordstrom.

What I Wear to Work

Hi Y'all!

Hope y'all had a good weekend!! I had a good weekend for the most part even though it was cold and rainy from Friday night through Saturday night.

I thought I would start sharing some of the outfits I wear since ideally that's what I would want to do but since I am not dating anyone it can be more difficult to get pictures and also to be honest I feel a little silly but I just love fashion blogs and I started this blog to emulate them so here we go.

Dress: Tahari c/o Nordstrom Rack; Boots: Ivanka Trump; Watch: MK (old) via Nordstrom; FitBit: Flex

Ok. So I work for a more conservative office but now that I am getting more comfortable at my office, I am willing to take a few more "risks" regarding my clothing and shoe choices.  We shall see if I get any better at taking pictures, I actually am not a fan of selfies but I would like to work on it.

Thanks for reading!

Friday Favorites

Hi Y'all!

Happy Friday. I have been doing so much stuff that this week has flown by and I actually am completely booked today and I need to get a lot done so yikes!! So this will be a quick post and then down to work!! I even hope to make time this weekend to catch up on Pinterest. Hope y'all have a great day!

1) Look how cute this pillow is from Nordstrom Rack - it is not on the website but call any Nordstrom Rack that sells home goods/accessories as well and they should have it (I just did yesterday). It is $16.00! It is the perfect addition to give my room a festive touch!

Travel Thursday: Las Vegas (part 2)

Hi Y'all!

It is almost the weekend again!! Just one more day. To say it was almost impossible to get out of bed this morning and head to work is the understatement of the century (duh dun!) but I survived and made it anyways.  Last night was the Christmas tree lighting at Rockefeller Plaza and I got watch a part of it, after enjoying delicious Junior's cheesecake, with one of my bestest of best friends T.  I am so happy that T is here and S will be here tomorrow night!

Onto the post, so I already shared the first day, if you couldn't tell we did and walked a ton (basically almost all the strip and then walking off the strip to the Las Vegas convention center, definitely got major mileage in.

The second day, we both woke up pretty early, i.e. jet lag (since Las Vegas is 3 hours behind and we both have jobs that have us up super early) and then we eventually went for a run in the cardio room before it got too packed full of people and followed it up with brunch at the MGM Grand Buffet.  Man there was a lot of food.

Afterwards, we majorly crashed and went into food coma extreme.  But by mid-afternoon we were back up and exploring this time the other side of the strip.  We walked past Luxor, the Mandalay and the Las Vegas sign (basically down to the airport) and then back up the strip to eventually eat dinner at Giada and dessert at Holsteins.  We finished the night dancing at the Bank at the Bellagio before going to bed and resting up for the run the next day.

Wednesday: Currently Craving

Hi Y'all!

Good morning.  It is Wednesday - Hump Day.  I am actually chipper and hoping to get a lot done today both at work and in my personal life.  Also, one of my best friends T is coming back to the city for a few days and then S comes into the city Friday.  I am truly blessed to have friends like this though I really need to make a decision as to when I will make the trip to DC. Whether it is for a long weekend and get seeing my friends and my sister's in or make it two weekends.  Decisions, Decisions.

Ok for today's post, I just wanted to share my constant obsession (my mom can attest to it).  Holiday pajamas.  I made her go with me to target two separate times looking for pajamas i could get my sisters and mom (and even maybe friends) for the holidays - i.e. Christmas!  Also, with the weather NYC has been getting, chilly and rainy (though nowhere near as cold as it could be which I am grateful for). But seriously, when the weather is like this, all I want to do is curl up watch movies (right now I am feeling any Star Wars movie will work for me) and hot chocolate with marshmellows and whip cream.  I also have been super bummed because a lot of the bloggers that I follow religiously, are wearing super cute and usually really affordable holiday pjs but everywhere they are sold out!!! So I thought for today, I would do some research and find some other viable options and share them.

Travel Tuesday: Las Vegas

Hi Y'all!

Sorry for the late post! I know that it is a Tuesday and this last weekend I was in Austin, but I didn't do anything too crazy and touristy while there (I more or less relaxed outside by the pool or cooked with my mom).  So I thought, I would finally share my photos from Las Vegas and I have a feeling that there is a need for 2 separate posts on it, hence the post today!

S and I arrived early Friday morning at the Las Vegas airport and then checked in at the MGM where we were staying for the weekend.

Cyber Monday Sales

Hi Y'all!

I hope y'all had a wonderful long weekend (and I am sorry if you had to work).  I had such a wonderful time in Austin.  Was able to do a little bit of this and that, but was most grateful to spend some time with family.  I should be back in the coming month and I also know that this month will fly by. We shall see...

Now if you are like me who ate twice the amount that I would normally ever eat while I was home and celebrating Thanksgiving, then you might want to take advantage of Cyber Monday sales.

To be honest, I am focused on tops since I have so many bottoms (but in all honesty, I have so many of both I shouldn't buy anything, but I can look right?).

Thankful Thursday

Hi Y'all!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! I spent this morning flying to Texas - after a nervous few days worried that my flight would get canceled I am on my way!! I also am so happy to be spending some time with my family (even though it is for such a short time and I am missing my older sister's family).  However, it is going to be warm and fantastic! I can't wait.

These are ten things I am thankful for:

(1) My family - though individually we are crazy and together we are just nuts, I love them so much and recognize how blessed I am to have them in my life, for everything my parents have been able to provide for me and I know if I need their help or support they are there!

(2) My friends - I am not someone who has a ton of friends, but rather I have a select few people, whom I have chosen to make time for on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis and I work very hard at those relationships and love these special few people with all my heart!

(3) My faith.  I try to not be preachy but I just feel so lucky to be a child of God and have a community in a city that is so busy and big like NYC that I can always turn to for support as well as good friends.

(4) My job and the life it provides me

(5) For all my travels that I have and will do in this year and next.

(6) My dog, Zeus, who I can't wait to see in a few hours!!

(7) My ability to read and learn - now that I am out of school I have rediscovered reading for pleasure and I actually am interested in taking a new class again!

(8) Long weekends and blanket scarves and ugg moccasins (and hot chocolate)!

(9) My health (and the health of my loved ones).

(10) Lastly, I am proud and thankful to be an American citizen. While I am still trying to work out a way to serve my country, I recognize how lucky I am to live in this blessed country and have the rights that I do.

outfit for thanksgiving

Hi Y'all!

One more day! We are almost there...and most likely means today is a half day (or shorter) and then I can go home and meet up with friends to see the balloons blown up for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!

I just wanted to come up with my essential Thanksgiving Day outfit.  It is going to be warmer in Texas, so I am not including scarves or jackets but I mean just look to J. Crew and Zara totally have you covered. Otherwise, I am basically planning on wearing a variation of this look, especially because this is going to be super comfortable for flying as well!

Hope you like it :)

Tasty Tuesday

Hi Y'all!

So who else is going to get snow and possible not be able to make their Thanksgiving destination? Looks like Manhattan is going to get hit and I might have to change plans.  I am supposed to fly out super early Thursday morning but now I am hearing about how there is this snow storm and it might just throw everything off :(.

However, I will strive to remain optimistic and wanted to share some recipes I hope to try to make with my mom (and sister) this long holiday weekend.

We always make beignets (french donuts - famous in New Orleans) for the holidays as breakfast - so good.  And my mom has said that if she can get enough blackberries, she will make me my favorite pie - blackberry pie in honor of my birthday earlier this month.

I want to try to make these recipes though because they are a little different but look so mouthwatering delicious!

Sunday Churchday

Hi Y'all!

Happy Monday! I wouldn't (maybe) normally say that except for it's Thanksgiving week! Oh I am so happy and thankful because I will get to see my family for the holiday (and be in Texas) and I had such a great weekend - reminding me how thankful I am to have such a great community of friends.

Today, I thought I would share an outfit that I wore yesterday to church and provide some other options, since it was originally a very simple outfit!

Now to just get caught up on all the blogs and emails and work ahead on posts for later this week :)

Friday Favorites

Hi Y'all!

I am tired but made it to Friday!!  Did I work out this week? The answer would be....no but my free week is over and I start tonight (or tomorrow...hopefully).  Tonight might be a night, that I go to bed early! Hopefully I do! Also why is it so cold??? It is completely unforgiveable!! GRR, at least its supposed to sort of warm up this weekend a little bit... I had so much trouble waking up this morning! I have big plans for this weekend, as in, getting a ton done off my to do list - cross fingers! We shall see how that goes!

Here are my FRIDAY FAVORITES:

Travel Thursday: Atlanta

Hi Y'all!

Even though I really want to share my photos from my trip to Las Vegas this weekend, I need to share first my photos from Atlanta (at least a few) since that was for my sister's Senior Weekend and I ate some really delicious food while I was there.

I am really enjoying blogging these days (though sometimes it feels like work, but its probably because its on my to do list every evening, and normally I just want to be lazy).  I also can't believe, I am 23 (I didn't mention it earlier, but it was my birthday last week) and I just have to say that I am so blessed to have the friends and family that I do, and have my health - able to run a half marathon, though I am giving myself a fat couple of lazy days to relax before I hit the grind again - getting back into yoga and ballet I think - I want to work out a workout schedule for myself, and I might share it because, why not? I really want to learn about how to design a better blog, so I am tempted to either enroll in some class or buy a book - does anyone know of a good self teach book (though I have such a long list of books, it is going to kill me).  You know what, I think I am going to make a goal list today and see what comes of it (can you tell, I love lists).

Winter is here

Hi Y'all!

I am sorry for missing yesterday's post, but to be honest it caught me by surprise how much I had to do both at the office and at home.  I am almost caught up, that is actually a lie - I still have so much to do but at least I am making progress (even though I am very tired and just want to sleep).  Who else is freezing? This weather is gross.  I picked running a half marathon in Las Vegas because I thought it would be warmer for this time of year and instead I end up running in 30+ degree weather only to return to that brutal cold here in NYC as well.  This morning's commute and well just waking up early really sucked.  So I thought I would share some of my favorite Winter weather items for this Winter.

Fit Outfit Inspiraiton

Hi Y'all!

So I am realizing that east coast is 3 hours ahead which means I am posting this super late! So sorry about that! I finished my run yesterday - 13.1 miles in Las Vegas.  It was one of the coldest runs ever here, so that was great but I did it in 2 hours and 1 minute.  My goal was to finish and to get it in under 2 hours and 10 minutes.  So I am super happy. I am also so blessed to have my family and friends who were kind enough to think of me and reach out to me during my training and also this weekend.  I also celebrated my 23rd birthday while I was here in Vegas and it was fun.  I gambled and won 23 cents after losing 10 dollars... but hey I got the experience.  I also went out to one of the clubs and had a really fun time with S.  I am so happy that she took time off as well to come with me explore Vegas and support me during my run.  I hope she had as good of a time as I did... it meant the world to me.  Now I have to think of something totally awesome for her rapidly approaching birthday.

Outfit Inspiration for Half Marathon this weekend.

Hi Y'all!

HAPPY FRIDAY! I am heading to Vegas today - no joke! It is so weird.  I started planning this trip back in June. It is really weird for it to be here already! So since I am so excited, I don't think I could focus on anything but my trip and run - oh my goodness I am both so excited and tired and nervous just thinking about it.  I did my last big run last night (8 miles) so I hope my body is ready for the 13 miles that is coming Sunday.

I thought that today, I would share a running outfit that I really like... I originally planned to run in the Lululemon running skort but then it is only going to be in the 60s there this weekend so I decided against spending money and just wear something I already have:

Monthly Birchbox

Hi Y'all!

Sorry for the lack of post yesterday and the non "Travel Thursday" post today.  I could do a post on Atlanta, or finish up showing pictures from the Middle East, but I just don't have too much time on my hands this morning :(.  I have my last big run tonight before I go to Vegas tomorrow morning and then I have at least 1-2 small runs to do and then its time for my half marathon.   Of course it is actually really cold now here and I just want to stay cuddled in bed but nope, up before the sun.

I thought I would share some pictures of my November Birchbox.  I can't remember if I did it for October but I am such a huge fan of it.  It is seriously a little gift to myself each month and usually comes on the perfect day.  Here is what I got this month - and I am obsessed with the Amika dry shampoo and now I have it in travel size.

As I mentioned, they come in the perfect travel size propotions and I am really excited to try at the Dr. Jarts pore minimizer and the candle is perfect for Christmas/holiday time!

Tasty Tuesday (with a hint of fashion)

Hi Y'all!

I am tired! Who else is with me!  But, it is only Tuesday! So good morning!!! I have a gala tonight and so excited - hopefully I will get some good pics.  I will be wearing a dress I got a couple of weeks ago and the event is all for a good cause.  I just don't want to be out too late because I still have more things to do (and to catch up on).

Instead of a recipe post, I thought I would share some of my recent finds at Anthropologie.  Aren't they all just adorable! I love going in there - though i can't always justify spending the money - that' why you wait for their major sales!

Perfect Fall Outfit

Hi Y'all!

SO when I was in Utah - I can't believe that was a month ago - JD took me to Sundance Monday morning and she wore just the cutest fall outfit!  I had to share it and then show how I would replicate it!

Friday Favorites

Hi Y'all!

HAPPY FRIDAY! At least for me, it felt like Friday should have been on Wednesday, yet the week still moved by quite fast and here we are! How exciting! I had a long week - hence basically being non-existent on social media (i.e. promoting my blog on instagram/twitter....) I will have to figure out a better work-blogger-life balance. I am really loving it so far...and really exciting because people have started following me via bloglovin and as soon as I catch up this weekend I will follow them right back - I swear, total code of conduct!!

I was so happy to see that people liked my photos...I have a beautiful dslr but I am embarassed to say I never take it off the main picture one.  I really need to take a class or something especially if I want to get any better at blogging...but I am right now re-discovering reading and not just fantasty/fiction but non-fiction (gasp) as well...so lets not get too far ahead. But I am certainly one of those people who loves learning ... I am like a sponge...not singing Sponge-bob-square pants song now.  But I am also happy because I am going to find the energy after a very early morning to run and then go out with two of my favorite people (2 of my other favorites are in DC) and we are going to paint the town red...or well hopefully stay up past 12 because lets be honest, I am a weeny and a grandma and its been an intense week to say the least!

Onto my "Friday Favorites":

Firstly, Target is yet again rocking the fall-winter accessories and clothes two of my favorite pieces are:

Travel Thursday: Utah (last day)

Hi Y'all!

I thought I would finally share some of those photos from the last day! Sorry that it has taken so long! I also am so sorry for not fashion post yesterday but if you follow me on twitter/instagram, you will know that Tuesday night I was at the live Colbert Report with T.  SO it has just left me feeling like I have to catch up.

As you might already know, I completely loved my time in Utah and I am so happy that I got to go! It made me feel so much better about all the stress I was going through - while I was there it completely erased it!  I already shared photos from Saturday and Sunday.  But on Monday, I went to Sundance and then did some more sightseeing in Provo before returning to SLC for the airport.

First Day Work Day

Hi Y'all!

Happy Monday! This past weekend I was in Atlanta for my sissy's (she is going to hate me for that) senior weekend! It was so fun!! Though it was definitely weird to be the grownup at the college apartment with all her roommates, I lived! Though I did go to bed before everyone else.  Also HAPPY DAYLIGHT SAVINGS!! I loved that extra hour of sleep but I am not looking forward to it being dark at like 4 pm, especially with still training for my half marathon (two weeks away).

I thought I would share an outfit inspiration for work -- a little different but works!

Friday Favorites

Hi Y'all!

FIRSTLY, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!! I don't know if I will be dressing up though (buzz kill I know...) but it is because I won't be with friends here I actually in Atlanta celebrating my sister's senior weekend for soccer!! woohoo!! I would also like to say, I have been out on Halloween my freshman year and I learned my lesson. In NYC, it gets really sketchy and honestly, people are weird here and Halloween gives them an excuse to lose all sense of boundaries, especially down by the village...

So I took yesterday off! If you know what has been going on, things have been crazy and I leave for Atlanta this morning so I had to get everything done in time for my return on Sunday night.  So the remaining photos of Utah will be posted shortly.  I have achieved my first goal in that they are uploaded. Now I just have to finalize the order and post.  It will happen! Just has taken me much longer.  But here I am, trying to plan ahead and keep my blog separate from the business side.

So last night - this night, J came over and we had such a chill but great night.  I created my own version of the pumpkin pie which I am in love with and will definitely have to share and then after a major dance (attempt at zamba) party and sing off happened in the kitchen (J has an incredible voice) we discovered that Step Up 5 came out and oh my goodness we had to watch it that moment. Luckily we found it on Amazon (I acted like an adult and bought it) and we then proceeded to watch it and do nothing else.  I didn't pack which means instead of getting up just before 5 to leave I will be getting up in now 3 hours to pack! kill me now but it was worth it! so Worth it! It is a total guilty pleasure and though script/acitng not great these people aren't actors, they are dancers. And seriously, all it makes me want to do is get involved in dance again! Love it - my brain knows how my body can't keep up though lol.

Currently Craving

Hi Y'all!

Yay it is Wednesday! I am right there with you that it was super hard to get going this morning.  I also have to really work hard to plan way ahead so that way I can have all my blog posts done for the next day early in the morning!

With everything going on, I didn't come up with a great outfit inspiration but rather decided to go with more of items that I have been looking at buying to add to my way to large (don't need anything more) closet!

Tasty Tuesday: Pumpkin Seeds!

Hi Y'all!

I finally have a recipe (passed down from my mom) to share with y'all!  I made it last night and it was the best snack!  I made it quite salty but you can make it however you want - it just serves as the perfect snack the morning after recovering from a  long distance run (11 miles - yikes)!

First thing first... I had to carve the pumpkin :)

Church Style

Hi Y'all!

Good Morning! Ok, so now I can get back on schedule since my life is heading back toward normal, or will be shortly. As you may know, I will be changing jobs shortly.  I am very blessed and excited for this new opportunity, and so grateful for my present company and all the experience I received.  Ok, so my life is not completely back to normal, since my laptop crashed and it has made blog posting very difficult and to work on. But hey you can't have everything going right, otherwise that wouldn't be reality/real life.

I thought that I would share photo from the outfit I wore yesterday (or a part of it) and provide you with the links to re-create it if you were interested.

Sorry that I did not capture all of it!

WET - RAINY - Wednesday!

Hi Y'all!

Wow, it is a rainy Wednesday!  Of course things continue to be crazy busy and I have a feeling they will be till the end of the month.  I am going to just sleep this weekend I think.  Also, my aunt either read my blog or my mind and I came home at 11 pm last night after the opera (Die Zauberflöte - don't get me started loved it completely) and had home made mac & cheese waiting for me.  How lucky am I? I am having it for lunch today and I am so excited!

When I woke up this morning, I knew I had to create a cute (work appropriate) rainy Wednesday outfit! I hope you like it!

Tasty Tuesday

Hi Y'all!

Happy Tuesday! Who else is exhausted? I went to bed before midnight I thought and yet still tired this morning :( it is a total bummer!  And I have so much going on today I am going to have to pull myself together.  And speaking of pulling myself together, I have yet to actually really make something to share on my "Tasty Tuesday" post - basically I've been making the same thing over and over (i.e. puppy chow and rice noodles spaghetti).  I promise I will get my act together, I have been really missing baking and molding recipes!

However, for today, I thought I would share some recipes that look absolutely delicious and I will have to make shortly.

Freezing Monday

Hi Y'all!

Sorry for the long pause - and no "Friday Favorites" post.  I was quite overwhelmed Friday and had barely time to sit let alone finish a post.  But I am back and with renewed determination.  This week will be great! I had an excellent weekend (wish it lasted a little longer but got some things done just not enough) - don't you hate that feeling? Oh well today will be another crazy busy one! But man, it got cold last night and this morning.  It didn't help that the building's boiler decided to stop working and there was no hot water.  Oh well, I still had to wash my hair - so that really woke me up!

Travel Thursday - Utah

Hi Y'all!

Sorry for the late post again, but S came into the city this morning and we grabbed breakfast after her meeting!  But I am so excited to share some photos from Utah.  I took a bunch on my camera which I forgot to upload, so I actually won't be able to completely post everything from that trip but its ok because I loved every moment I was there and therefore I will have more than one post devoted to this trip!  So I will get to share every fabulous thing I did while there up until Monday!

First things first, I spent Friday night basically organizing and creating a new organized room for myself.  It involved me watching Valentino: The Last Emperor and Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf Goodman.  Both were epic and completely awesome!  As a result, I went to bed at 2 AM and woke up at 430 AM to head to the airport to catch my flight.  To say I was tired, was an understatement. Luckily, I got Shake Shack for breakfast and it was delicious - though greasy and I was really annoyed because all I wanted to drink was lemon tea and yet there was none!

Fall Trend: Shearling

Hi Y'all!

Happy Wednesday! I always have to say it or I might just hit the ground from exhaustion! Today is actually a really busy day for me and I am quite excited to see how things go!  So I will keep things short and simple today (tomorrow will be the long post where I write way too much).

I am sharing a cute outfit that started with a shearling coat that I think is just perfect to keep you warm and has that real country vibe to it. I just found this to be the perfect fall to winter look (just add black tights).  I hope you like the look.

Tasty Tuesday

Hi Y'all!

Sorry for the late post - I feel like I have been saying that a lot and I really need to work on that.  But my flight was delayed and I got back in the wee hours of this morning and now I am struggling to stay awake at the office.

I thought for today, since again, I don't have any new recipes to share, I thought I would share my ideal Sunday dinner, that I hope to use in coming weeks and invite friends from church, but we shall see.

Currently Craving

Hi Y'all!

I am so sorry for the super late post, I had a feeling this might happen.  I am in Utah still - because I actually get Columbus Day off and I am loving every moment I am here.  I thought I had romanticized it in my head but I had not at all.  It is so gorgeous and perfectly Fall.  I am even headed to Sundance today.  But for today's post I thought I would share some items that I am currently craving and believe they would be perfect for the Fall.  Granted, I am pretty much going to wait for them to go on sale but still so perfect for Fall.

Friday Favorites

Hi Y'all!

TGIF!! Thank goodness it's Friday!  But man, how this week has flown by.  I went to the Met Opera last night to watch Carmen - amazing, beautiful and fantastic! I just went straight from work so I wasn't able to pull out the old ballgown and I was way in the back and top tier but it was still fantastic!

I am craving every delicious pastry that is sold at Maison Kayser! If you have not been and live in NYC, please go asap!

Travel Thursday: Connecticut

Hi Y'all!

So this past weekend I was in Connecticut with S and we had so much fun!! One of the main reasons I came out was to go apple picking but sadly it was too late in the season and because of the awful winter and spring we had here, most orchards had closed :(. So sad!  However, we decided to do other fun fall things but then the heavens opened up Saturday and so instead we went shopping after sitting in a parking lot hoping the storm would pass soon but then gave up!

So we were in Fairfield, which is totally gorgeous and got a very New England, small-town (sort of) vibe and there is also the Fairfield University - so it is also college town which makes it fun and youthful.  I always love going there.

We took the morning to walk to Starbucks out on the Old Post Road before getting dressed and ready to head out to the Corn Maze and pumpkin pasture.
It also was the perfect weekend because the leaves had started to fall and the weather actually was chilly but not too cold - perfect Fall weekend, where you have the windows open and just snuggle up in sweats and blankets!

Outfit Inspiration

Hi Y'all!

Sorry for the lack of post yesterday!  I was so busy with work and with my traveling and everything going on, I honestly haven't baked much! But that is going to change! I have a back log of all these recipes I want to try and what not and the monster will be unleashed soon. However, I will have to find time during the week because I am traveling this three day weekend to Utah.  I am so excited! I am going to get to see a friend that I haven't seen in over a year and I also have definitely felt a connection there and been wanting to check it out, possibly for a future move one day.  We shall see. Right now I am pretty situated in the city but I do miss the country and nature - I mean what is a southern girl to do?

However, I came up with a cute and comfy outfit perfect for the trip to Utah and the fall! I hope you like it!
